NewsEven though the first NuFuel conference is now over, we will be making updates to this website, to support the links that were made over the course of the event. These updates are listed here:
- 8th December 2015 - The list of people who attended the meeting has been added to the site and can be found on the Delegates List page.
- 4th December 2015 - PDFs of posters and presentations have been uploaded to the programme page. If you would like yours to be included, please send it to Michael Rushton
The "First Workshop on research into Nuclear Fuel in Europe" (NuFuel), took place in Karlsruhe, Germany, from November 16 to 18, 2015, and played host to the 2015 MMSNF international workshop.
The NuFuel workshop was initiated by CEA-DEN and JRC-ITU under the auspices of the European Energy Research Alliance's Joint Program on Nuclear Materials (JPNM) in order to establish stronger and more-lasting collaborative links between European institutes, to provide a forum where dialogue between experts is fostered, and to give students and young scientists the possibility to present their work and discuss with experts in the field.
The NuFuel 2015 workshop covered:
The goal of MMSNF is to stimulate research on modelling and simulations of nuclear fuels to assist the design of improved fuels and the evaluation of fuel performance. By embedding MMSNF within the Nufuel workshop for the 2015 edition we promoted communication and forged strong bonds between different groups working on this subject around the world. The NuFuel workshop and MMSNF are highly complementary and as a result delegates contributed to all aspects of the combined meeting.
This event was chaired jointly by CEA-DEN, Imperial College London and JRC-ITU.
